Postdoctoral Scholar Pool – Department of Computer Science

Postdoctoral Scholar, Full-Time, San Marcos
The Department of Computer Science seeks to develop a pool of candidates for postdoctoral scholars (post‑doc) positions in Computer Science. A post‑doc is a professional appointment designed to provide recent doctoral degree recipients with an opportunity to gain experiences and skills that will advance their careers. A post‑doc works under the supervision and sponsorship of a regular faculty member, who serves as a mentor to the post‑doc.
The appointment involves a substantial and full‑time commitment to research, scholarship, teaching, or other professional activities. Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to continuity of funding and departmental need.
- Recently awarded a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct research independently and in groups.
- Previous teaching experience is preferred.
