Department:Ingram School of Engineering
PositionDescription:
The Ingram School of Engineering at Texas State University invites applications for a tenured associate professor or tenure-track assistant professor position in Electrical Engineering, beginning in Fall 2026. We are actively seeking research leaders whose specialization complements our key focus areas, which have been strategically mapped into four critical, high-impact domains:
Sustainable Power and Energy system analysis, planning, and optimization;
Transmission Systems, Distribution Systems, and/or (Next-Generation) Grid Resilience;
Design and control of voltage distribution systems and Networked Microgrids; and Fundamentals of Wide Bandgap Semiconductor-based Power Converters and their application in advanced distribution systems. This pivotal position is fundamental to our new Ph.D. program in Electrical Engineering, underscoring a significant institutional commitment to elevating advanced research and academic excellence
. These departmental initiatives are directly integrated with the university’s overarching Road to R1 objectives, guaranteeing robust institutional support, access to dedicated research infrastructure, and amplified prospects for attracting substantial external funding. The successful candidate will be instrumental in defining the research trajectory of our emerging Ph.D. program and guiding its initial cohort of doctoral researchers. The successful candidate will be expected to: a) establish a program of externally funded collaborative research, b) demonstrate a strong commitment to student-centered teaching and mentoring, c) teach general electrical and computer engineering courses, and d) engage in university and professional service.
To assure full consideration, applications must be submitted by January 15, 2026
