Position Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Safety & Health Supervisor to lead all initiatives related to employee safety, health, and site security within our food manufacturing facility. This role ensures full compliance with company policies and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safety management within a manufacturing environment—preferably in the food industry—and a passion for cultivating a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety Program Development & Compliance
  • Design, implement, and promote comprehensive safety procedures and policies.
  • Develop and maintain OSHA‑mandated programs, action plans, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations.
Training & Communication
  • Create and manage a Safety Training Matrix tailored to departmental needs.
  • Coordinate and track safety training across all departments.
  • Develop and deliver safety topics and training materials.
Facility & Equipment Oversight
  • Conduct regular safety audits and walkthroughs to identify hazards and unsafe behaviors.
  • Ensure all PPE, safety stations, and safety devices are functional and accessible.
  • Maintain and update the OSHA 300 log and other required documentation.
Incident Management
  • Respond promptly to workplace incidents and coordinate medical attention as needed.
  • Complete and file all incident‑related documentation on the day of occurrence.
  • Track and analyze incidents by area to identify trends and training needs.
Reporting & Recognition
  • Publish safety performance metrics and visual dashboards.
  • Maintain records of accident‑free days and support recognition programs.
Vendor & Program Coordination
  • Manage relationships with safety‑related vendors (e.g., fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, audiometric testing, chemical handling).
  • Oversee environmental health and safety programs, including waste handling and noise surveys.
Site Security
  • Lead and enforce all site security protocols and programs.
  • Participate in internal and external audits related to safety and security.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with department leads, supervisors, and managers to ensure safety initiatives are implemented effectively.
  • Support maintenance and plant management in OSHA compliance audits.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in safety management within a manufacturing environment; food industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree preferred.
  • In‑depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance standards and reporting.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in safety reporting and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence safety culture.
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR.
  • Certification in OSHA 300 is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs.
  • Bilingual‑Spanish required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft's 365.
