ResponsibilitiesSan Marcos Treatment Center is located on 63 acres in the Texas hill country and is known nationwide with programming for children and adolescents in a residential treatment setting.
Position Summary:
To receive inquiry calls and assist caller with scheduling of a face‑to‑face assessment or triage to an appropriate referral in the community. To compile all clinical and meet individual contract requirements prior to assessment and admission. To assess or ensure assessment by a qualified mental health professional of patients who present for assessment. To screen for medical and behavioral emergency conditions.
To perform assessment of behavioral healthcare needs and coordinate the clinical team effort to ensure that these needs are met either at San Marcos Treatment Center or another appropriate provider in the community. When assigned, to complete the process of admission, intake, and pre‑authorization of care with external payers.
- Must have Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a mental health field.
- Clinical experience in psychiatric setting; situational evaluation and crisis intervention experience (preferred)
- Must have LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or LMSW
- High level of initiative, motivation, independent judgment and organizational skills
- Ability to relate to those emotionally disturbed and in crisis
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
