Sr. Network Administrator/Engineer San Marcos, TX

Responsibilities:

  • Design, install, and configure campus network switches, routers, wireless access points, and related equipment.
  • Work on trouble tickets to resolve end-user network problems.
  • Allocate and assign campus-wide network IP address space.
  • Perform backup and recovery of campus network infrastructure configurations.
  • Administer network infrastructure in a 24/7 environment, including software and firmware updates, security patches.
  • Produce documentation for network designs, processes, configurations, and diagrams.
  • Automate network tasks using management tools and scripting.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software vendors to resolve issues, submitting support tickets as needed.

    • Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in network administration.
  • Experience with BGP Routing Protocol and MPLS Routing.
  • Experience with network security devices such as Firewalls and IPS.
  • Experience with network automation and scripting.
  • Knowledge of wireless networking protocols and technologies.

    • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience installing, testing, and maintaining physical network cabling (copper, fiber optic).
  • Experience supporting IT systems in a Higher Education environment.
  • Experience with CATV systems and cabling.
  • Experience with PBX telephone systems.
  • Relevant network certifications.
