Required Qualifications
  • Seven (7) or more years’ experience in building (structural) trades roles, including a minimum of three (3) or more years as a line (direct) supervisor.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience overseeing crews and delegating tasks.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, and track labor, materials, and equipment usage.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Previous work experience in a higher education environment.
  • Experience using AIM IWMS by Asset Works.
Job Description

Responsible for overseeing the facility maintenance operations to ensure campus buildings are safe, functional, and well‑maintained.

Job Duties
  • Supervise and monitor activities of Facilities Operations Building Trades Supervisors.
  • Provide management oversight of building trades activities throughout campus.
  • Review project plans and related documents for content accuracy, compliance with, building codes, University construction standards, environmental, and safety regulations.
  • Manage PM program for building trades to maximize facilities asset lifecycle and avoid unplanned downtimes.
  • Assist associate director in assessing building structures systems for capital renewal and major repair and replacement initiatives.
  • Comply with all state and university policies.
  • Operate a university vehicle.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Information to Applicants

Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and maintain eligibility to drive a university vehicle pursuant to the University’s Driver Selection Policy. Required to carry a cell phone and be available in emergent situations.
