Responsibilities
San Marcos Treatment Center, a 212-bed seclusion‑free psychiatric residential treatment facility located between Austin and San Antonio in the heart of Central Texas, spans 65 acres with abundant trees and wildlife. The facility houses 13 unique living units separated by gender, age, and developmental level, and features two swimming pools, two gymnasiums, a sports court, playing fields, a ropes course, a canteen, a social area, and a healing trail.
We provide 24‑hour psychiatric care to girls and boys ages 6 to 17 with customized therapeutic approaches and intensive behavioral programs that teach young patients to moderate their behavior, manage emotions, and improve social functioning.

ShiftWe are looking for LVNs to work overnights with our adolescent population. The LVN overnight shift is 10 PM to 6 AM.
Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the LVN provides physical assessments of patients, implements treatment plans, evaluates response to treatment, provides complete documentation, administers medications as prescribed, and offers health‑care education to patients and families. The LVN serves as shift supervisor of the Mental Health Associates and ensures a safe, therapeutic environment for all patients. Responsibilities include direct patient care and management of children, adolescents, and young adults as prescribed by the physician and treatment team, ensuring safety, supervision, and crisis management, providing assessment and medical management, and assisting in maintaining a therapeutic milieu.

Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. One year psychiatric/neuropsychiatric experience with adolescents and/or young adults in a long‑term hospital or residential setting preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Current Texas professional Nurse License and current driver’s license.
Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information; demonstrates effective organization; implements patient‑care services within discipline; consistently exhibits mental ability to understand and perform the essential functions of the job; initiates and implements all phases of the nursing process; provides safe nursing care; understands patient rights; basic supervisory skills.
