Overview

We are looking for compassionate nurses to provide care for a very special client. Below are the details of the position.

Schedule
  • Friday-Sunday, 3 shifts/week (6pm-6am)
Location/Setting
  • San Marcos, TX

Qualifications
  • Active, unrestricted license (RN) in the state of practice
  • Compact licenses must be transferred to your state of residence within 90 days
  • Current CPR certification
  • TB skin test current within last 12 months
  • Six months prior hands‑on nursing experience preferred but not required
  • Reliable transportation
Essential Job Functions
  • Responsible for delivery and coordination of quality patient care in compliance with physician orders.
  • Continuously observe and assess patient condition, report changes to supervisor/physician as appropriate.
  • Document all activities, assessments, nursing actions, responses, and coordination of care in a timely manner whenever care is delivered.
  • Participate, implement, and update the nursing care plan.
  • Take appropriate nursing action based on assessment and achieve expected outcomes.
  • Recognize changes in patient needs and responses requiring intervention; implement care to prevent or reduce risk.
  • Maintain personal and professional accountability by complying with Aveanna policies, state and federal regulations, accrediting bodies, and the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Provide care utilizing infection control measures to protect staff and patient according to OSHA standards.
  • Educate patient and family regarding disease process, self‑care techniques, and prevention strategies.
  • Maintain knowledge of nursing competencies through continued education and skill evaluations.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current, unrestricted state license as a Licensed Nurse in the state of practice.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with nursing care and policies.
Additional State Specific Requirements
  • South Carolina – One year of pediatrics experience.
  • California – One year of experience working under current nursing license.
  • Louisiana – One year of experience working as a licensed nurse.
  • Continuing Education as required by state.
Preferences
  • Six months of recent experience as a licensed nurse in a clinical care setting.
  • Home health experience.

Physical Requirements
  • Speak, write, read, and understand English.
  • Travel sufficient distance.
  • Lift 50 pounds.
  • Reposition patients and move equipment without assistance.
  • Prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting.
  • Sit and climb stairs.
  • Have visual and hearing acuity.
  • Have strong sense of smell and touch.
  • Respond physically and mentally to emergency situations in the home or during transport.
Environment
  • Work in a variety of environments with potential exposure to allergens and other conditions.
  • Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.
