Install​/Service Technician

Position Summary

The Install & Service Technician will install and repair the products offered by SG Architectural Solutions in an efficient, safe, and professional manner. The Technician will receive instruction from the Project Manager or Service Manager before arriving at a job site and should perform limited coordination activities once on the job site.

• Perform installations of Smoke Guard equipment.
• Perform repairs and replacement of Smoke Guard equipment.
• Complete and submit daily reports and warranty work reports thoroughly and on time.
• Participate in fire inspections, including testing equipment and providing product documentation to customers.
• Coordinate with other trades on site not captured in the Job Walk (e.g., electricians/superintendents for power needs, drywall team for unit housing needs).
• Work efficiently to minimize mobilizations and windshield time.
• Attend and actively participate in required safety trainings at SG Solutions or on project job sites.
• Notify management of issues or potential issues on job sites and address as needed.
• Ensure that Smoke Guard employee interactions on job sites are professional and respectful at all times and maintain good working relationships with site superintendents and other trades.
• This role may require other duties; the above statements describe the general nature and level of work performed.

• In-depth technical knowledge of Smoke Guard products and ability to troubleshoot and repair them.
• Ability to read building specifications, blueprints, and as‑built drawings.
• Knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools and ability to select correct tools and equipment for the job.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision to complete work on time and to quality standards.
• Ability to carry and lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand/walk for long periods.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required safety certifications.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• 2+ years of experience as an Installer, Repair Technician, or similar role.
• 2+ years of experience in the Construction industry.

• Physical Conditions:
  
  Construction – requires ability to work in typical construction environments and use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hard hat, eye/face protection, hearing protection, steel toes, etc.

• Candidates must successfully pass a background check and drug screen.
• Frequent travel within Texas territory (Austin and San Antonio metro areas).
• Must have a current Texas driver’s license with a clean MVR.
• Must be able to reach, bend, kneel, and crouch occasionally.
