Overview
Rehabilitation Assistant (San Marcos) at State of Texas. The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is seeking a Rehabilitation Assistant (RA) I - Sr RA to join the Vocational Rehabilitation Department located in San Marcos, Texas.
The RA supports Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS) by providing basic information about VR programs, services, and referrals to customers and vendors. This role may involve travel (up to 10%) and may require hours outside the standard 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule. The position is security sensitive and may require verification of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.

Responsibilities- Assist assigned VR Counselors in providing services to customers to achieve successful employment outcomes.
- Provide basic information regarding VR programs, services, and referral information to applicants, customers, families, vendors, and staff.
- Utilize the electronic case management system and other agency-supported software programs for case management tasks.
- Assist with intake/profile information collection and maintain related records in assigned files.
- Prepare and review reports for accuracy on monitored services and participate in VR Services (VRS) training as required.
- Furnish information regarding Texas Workforce Solutions (TWS)/VRS programs, services, and requirements to applicants and stakeholders.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- 18 months or more of experience in office practices and office support work in a Windows PC environment.
- Experience with purchasing procedures; case guidelines, regulations, and policies; and case management support functions.
- Knowledge of community and government service delivery systems; understanding of mental illness and emotional components of physical illness.
- Ability to interpret complex policies/procedures, maintain confidentiality, and analyze financial data.
- Strong interviewing and needs assessment skills; experience in case management support and related duties.
- RA I:
One year of full-time qualifying experience in human services, social science, business, or a related field and graduation from high school; or thirty semester hours in related fields may be substituted for experience. - RA II:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with related major and one year and six months of qualifying experience; one additional year of experience may be substituted for 30 semester hours. - RA III:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with related major and two years of qualifying experience; one additional year may be substituted for 30 semester hours. - Sr. RA:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with related major and two years and six months of qualifying experience; one year may be substituted for each 30 semester hours of education.
