The City of San Marino is seeking an experienced, hands‑on, and detail‑oriented finance professional with a strong background in governmental accounting and public sector finance who brings innovative problem‑solving skills and a collaborative leadership style.
Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the Accounting Manager/Controller will play a key role in overseeing the budget development processes, including long‑term financial planning, multi‑year forecasting, supporting organizational priorities such as infrastructure investments, service expansion, or sustainability initiatives through sound fiscal planning and forecasting, and enhancing internal controls. The Accounting Manager/Controller will oversee an accounting team of two and collaborate with the Director of Finance to steward the City’s $46 million annual operating and capital budget, provide sound financial projections for decision‑making, and secure the City of San Maino's fiscal future.

Duties
- Plan, direct, coordinate, and perform all duties described in General Purpose, including City accounting, internal control, and auditing activities; recommend procedures to conduct activities in accordance with related laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations.
- Manage the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, related schedules, and recommend and implement a system of accounting controls.
- Provide assistance to the Finance Director, other City personnel, and the public regarding Finance Department related issues.
- Develop and implement department goals, objectives and priorities; recommend and administer policies and procedures.
- Manage the preparation of general ledgers, account reconciliations, related schedules and reports; prepare or direct the preparation of supporting schedules for the department and City budgets.
