Senior 3D Generalist, Product Visualization

What the role actually is

Skydio is hiring a senior 3D generalist for a full-time, three-month contract on its Brand Creative team. The role turns product CAD into polished imagery, animations, illustrations, and interactive 3D assets for launches, keynote work, and web experiences.

This is not product design in the UX sense, but it is highly product-specific creative work for autonomous drones and belongs in the board's marketing and design-adjacent lane.

• Build photorealistic drone product renderings, illustrations, and animations
• Prepare CAD-derived geometry for production visualization in Blender
• Create assets for product launches, keynotes, web experiences, manuals, decks, and campaigns
• Preserve product accuracy while lighting, materializing, animating, and compositing scenes
• Optimize real-time or interactive 3D assets when a project calls for them

• Portfolio or reel showing hard-surface product rendering and product animation
• Strong lighting, material-development, and CAD-derived visualization skills
• Ability to clean geometry, organize scenes, create UVs, and preserve product proportions
• Experience with Blender and production-ready product visualization workflows
• U.S. work authorization for a remote or San Mateo hybrid contract

Robotics products are physical, expensive, and often hard to photograph in every useful state. This role is relevant because it makes the product legible before, during, and after launch by translating engineering models into credible public-facing visuals.
