EssentialDuties and Accountabilities:
- Supports the fundamental philosophy, skills and techniques for the program
- Maintains a knowledge of all sport, school, league, section and state rules and by‑laws
- Foster training in conduct, ethics and sportsmanship for all athletes and coaches
- Supervision of the athletes before, during and after workouts
- Shall continually update professional expertise in the appropriate area by attending clinics, joining professional organizations, reading professional literature or any other acceptable means
- Work with the Athletic Director to solve problems at the lowest level while supporting the ideas of the program/parent/coaches concerning procedures
- Shall perform such necessary details in this position which are not specifically stated but which are considered by competent authorities to be generally associated with the assistant coaching position
Education:
- Demonstrates three‑years of successful experience as a high school Swim coach or equivalent experience as player or club coach
- Demonstrates knowledge of the fundamental skills and techniques, as well as the advanced techniques in the sport of Swimming
- Demonstrates successful personality and character traits appropriate to Catholic educational leadership
- Demonstrates successful ability to teach, enforce, advocate and model appropriate behavior, character traits, Christian and educational values to student‑athletes
- Demonstrates successful ability to teach, organize and supervise student‑athletes
- Demonstrates successful management and organizational skills
- Demonstrates successful ability to work with parent groups, administrators, staff and students
- Current CPR/First Aid, NFHS or ASEP certification
- Cover letter and resume
- List of references or at least two letters of recommendation
