Part‑Time Yoga‑Pilates Instructor (Pool)

Employment Type: Part‑time – 2 days per week, semester assignments as needed
Salary: Placement on the adjunct faculty salary schedule based on education and experience. Lab Course (HB): $89.20–$130.94 each hour. Lecture Course (AJ): $103.85–$151.07 each hour.

Duties and Responsibilities- Teach courses offered in yoga and/or Pilates.
- Assist in curriculum revisions and new course development.
- Consult with students during regularly scheduled office and lab hours.
- Maintain expertise in current practice and technologies.
- Serve as a member of division and college committees.
- Perform other professional duties as required by contract and general institutional needs.
- Evidence of successful experience at the college or high school level teaching yoga and Pilates classes.
- Demonstrable knowledge of current literature on yoga and/or Pilates.
- Commitment to the teaching profession, its goals and ideals, and enthusiasm for the mission of the community college.
- Energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to excellence in teaching.
- Willingness to work with students who possess a wide range of skills, varying abilities, motivations, and academic or vocational goals.
- Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with others in a team environment.
- Use instructional strategies designed for diverse learning styles and academic goals.
- Possession of a Master’s or above in physical education, exercise science, education with an emphasis in physical education, kinesiology, physiology of exercise, or adaptive physical education OR Bachelor’s in any of the above AND Master’s or above in any life science, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration, or physical therapy OR the equivalent.
- Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to, and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, ethnic, neurodivergent, and LGBTQIA+ backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff as these factors relate to the need for equity‑minded practice both within and outside of the classroom.

Work Demands: Typical on‑site office environment; in‑person work expected with potential to participate in the District's telework program as available. Responsibilities include frequent hearing, speaking, operating computers, and extended periods of sitting. Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.
