Job Requirements:
- Master's or above in African-American/Black/Africana Studies or Latino Studies, La Raza Studies, Chicana/o Studies, or Asian-American Studies, or Native American/ American Indian Studies OR Master's or above in Ethnic Studies OR the equivalent (see below)
- Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to, and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, ethnic, neurodivergent, and LGBTQIA+ backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practice both within and outside of the classroom.
Preferred
- A graduate degree in ethnic studies
- Recent experience working with racially minoritized and other disproportionately-impacted students in the classroom and an understanding of how historical patterns of exclusion of these groups within higher education and other fields shape participation and outcomes
- Willingness to examine and revise one's instructional, relational, and classroom practices to engage and support racially minoritized and other disproportionately impacted students more effectively
- Experience and skill with addressing inequity in the classroom and on campus
- Experience in culturally-responsive teaching in ethnic studies
- Demonstrated ability to address equity gaps within ethnic studies courses and classrooms
