Part‑Time EOPS Counselor (Pool)

Schedule:
Placement on the adjunct faculty salary schedule is based upon education and credited experience. Initial placement can range from $83.09 to $103.42 per hour (Salary Schedule AJ - Laboratory Rate).
Months Per Year: Semester assignments as needed

The duties below are representative of the duties of the classification and are not intended to cover all of the duties performed by the incumbent(s) of any particular position. Duties and Responsibilities- Community College Counselor Credential or Master’s degree or above in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, career development, OR the equivalent (see below), and in addition, EOPS counselors hired after October 24, 1987, shall:
- Have completed a minimum of nine semester units of college coursework predominantly relating to ethnic minorities or persons handicapped by language, social, or economic disadvantages, or,
- Have completed six semester units or the equivalent of a college‑level counseling practicum or counseling field‑work courses in a community college EOPS program, or in a program working predominantly with ethnic minorities or persons handicapped by language, social, or economic disadvantages, and
- In addition, an EOPS counselor hired after October 24, 1987, shall have two years of occupational experience in work relating to ethnic minorities or persons handicapped by language, social, or economic disadvantages.
- Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, ethnic, neurodivergent, and LGBTQIA+ backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff
- Experience working in EOPS/CARE, Next Up, CalWORKs, or with other programs serving disproportionately‑impacted students
