Placement on the adjunct faculty salary schedule is based upon education and credited experience. Initial placement can range from $83.09 to $103.42 per hour (Salary Schedule AJ - Laboratory Rate).
Months Per Year: Semester assignments as needed

Duties and ResponsibilitiesKnowledge of:
- Other disabilities, including acquired brain injuries, psychological, and developmental disabilities.
- Assistive computer technology (both hardware and software) for students with learning disabilities.
- Two years' experience working with adult students with learning disabilities in the college setting.
- Experience administering and interpreting the current appropriate achievement and cognitive assessment instruments.
- The ability to understand the implications of behavior elicited by a specific disability.
- Ability to design and implement intervention strategies and academic accommodation strategies.
- Experience teaching and/or advising at the high school or college level.
- Possession of a Master's or above in learning disabilities, special education, education, psychology, speech language pathology, communication disorders, educational or school psychology, counseling, or rehabilitation counseling AND 15 semester units of upper division or graduate study in the area of learning disabilities, to include, adult cognitive and achievement assessment OR the equivalent (see below).
- Completion of the California Community College Learning Disability Eligibility Model Training.
- Demonstrated experience or training in the administration and interpretation of standardized diagnostic instruments as indicated in the Learning Disabilities Eligibility Model.
- Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to, and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, ethnic, neurodivergent, and LGBTQIA+ backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff as these factors relate to the need for equity‑minded practice both within and outside of the classroom.
