Duties and Responsibilities- Plan lessons and follow the instruction curriculum
- Present proper demonstrations of skills in the water with students
- Maintain a safe and positive teaching environment
- Effectively communicate student progress to parents
- Teach basic swimming skills to children ages 3 to 12 years old
- Teach both group and private lessons to children and adults
- Adapt and be flexible
- Friendly, outgoing, and able to motivate students
- Anticipate possible hazardous situations and ensure the safety of students
- Teach weekday evenings from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm and weekends 9:00 am - 2:30 pm

- CPR certified
- Two (2) years minimum of swim teaching experience
- Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, ethnic, neurodivergent, and LGBTQIA+ backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff
- Lifeguard certified
- Five (5) years of swim teaching experience
- Ability to lift at least 50lbs
Due to the temporary nature of this position, benefits are not included.
