We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Senior Planner to join our team of professionals. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a dynamic, motivated self‑starter to work on a variety of assignments. You’ll be a member of our highly respected team with a full complement of resources to support you and exciting projects to keep you challenged.

• Processing development entitlement applications
• Updating zoning code and development standards
• Assisting with or completing planning studies
• Overseeing CEQA review of projects, possibly including preparing IS/MND’s
• Generally supporting local agency planning departments
• Advance/policy planning, state and federal permitting procedures and compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)
• Experience working for a city or county planning agency in California (as staff or consultant) with experience processing moderately complex to complex development applications is required

• Can work independently and has strong customer service skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for preparing and presenting planning reports and projects
• Creative problem‑solvers
• Can work on several projects or issues simultaneously
• The ability to manage projects effectively and meet firm deadlines

• Graduation from a recognized College or University with a Bachelor’s degree in planning, landscape architecture, public administration, geography, architecture, civil engineering, environmental sciences, or a closely related field and 7+ years’ experience with substantial work in California planning agencies

Compensation: Salary Range: $90,000 – $125,000
