The RoleWe’re seeking a Senior Automation & Controls Engineer to design and deploy advanced robotic automation systems. You will work closely with robotics and machine learning engineers to bring the Skild Brain into live production environments. You’ll also help build automated systems for testing, validation, and scaling our growing robot fleet.
This role sits at the intersection of AI, robotics, and industrial automation, with direct impact on real-world deployments across multiple industries.
What You’ll Do- Design, implement, and maintain automation systems powered by Skild AI models
- Develop PLC- and vision-based solutions to support large-scale robotic deployment and validation
- Build automated testing infrastructure to improve data quality and model performance
- Collaborate with robotics and machine learning teams to integrate Skild’s robotic stack into production environments
- Support real-world deployments, system tuning, and ongoing operational improvements
- 3+ years of industry experience in automation, controls, or robotics engineering
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Controls, or equivalent hands‑on experience
- Strong hands‑on expertise with PLCs, vision systems, sensors, actuators, and full system integration
- Experience building, launching, and sustaining production-grade automation or robotic systems
- Knowledge of industrial automation standards and plant communication protocols
- Strong system-level understanding of robotics software stacks and module interfaces
- Work on general‑purpose robotic intelligence at real‑world scale
- Deploy AI-powered automation into live production environments
- Collaborate with top robotics and machine learning engineers
- Operate in a fast-moving, execution-focused engineering culture
