Position OverviewCompetently performs routine and specialized Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures to produce quality images for physicians and other health care providers to diagnose, treat, monitor, and prevent injury or disease. Works independently, exercising sound judgment and developing clinical skills to execute safe and precise procedures that provide accurate results in a timely manner. Gains confidence and cooperation from patients, their families/support groups, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring, and effective communication.
Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care. May also help orient other staff to the department and perform specific procedures as needed.
- Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program OR Graduate from an accredited Magnetic Resonance Program
- CRT-Certified Radiologic Technologist OR ARMRIT-Certified MRI Technologist
- ARRT (MRI) – American Register of Radiologic Technologists Magnetic Resonance Imaging
- BLS – Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
- CVENI-Certified Venipuncture
- 3 years recent relevant experience
- General knowledge of diagnostic MRI principles, procedures, views, and equipment, including experience responding to traumas and emergencies.
- Ability to perform routine MRI examinations and a basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non‑medical persons.
- Excellent time‑management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures to meet objectives and deadlines.
- Familiarity with computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and related information systems (RIS, LIS, EHR, EPIC, PACS).
- Independently and collaboratively work in a team environment, handling multiple tasks in a setting with interruptions.
- Identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options while ensuring the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI).
- Build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.

Pay Range is $73.46 to $91.82 / hour
The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
