The Pastor of Family Ministries will provide vision, energy, oversight, and direction to the Family Ministries of Community Baptist Church. Responsibilities include discipling families to Christ, promoting the church’s vision, building relationships within the community, and sharing personal faith with the church body, leaders, and volunteers.
Personal [Spiritual] Qualifications- Follower of Christ
- Agreement with the doctrines and beliefs of the American Baptist Church and Community Baptist Church of San Mateo
- Person of integrity and humility
- Attitude of inclusivity and spirit of curiosity
- Personable, intuitive, insightful
- Disciplined and self‑motivated
- Creates and cultivates an environment for spiritual growth and discipleship
- Experience in ministering to diverse age groups (2‑5 years experience preferred)
- Knowledge and application of Scripture in discipling
- Builds and encourages strong relationships
- Develops community relationships
- Experience in counseling
- Understands cultural dynamics
- Fluent in English and Mandarin or Cantonese
- Supports and expands ministries relevant to church vision
- Directs and facilitates ministry team
- Collaborates with other ministry teams
- Meets challenges in creative ways
- Participate in weekly pastoral staff meetings
- Participate in regular visitation and outreach opportunities
- Accountable to the Senior Pastor and the church Board of Directors
