Senior Android Engineer - Alarms

Verkada’s Alarms team builds the intelligent systems that detect, verify, and respond to real-world security threats—whether it's a break-in or suspicious activity caught on video. We combine intrusion sensors, cameras, and AI to create a fast, reliable, and modern security experience.

We consider our team a startup within a startup, with a fair amount of ownership and autonomy. You’ll be working alongside a dynamic team of firmware, backend, and frontend engineers to develop this product line.

• BS or a graduate degree in Computer Science, Maths, Engineering, or science

• 7+ years of industry software engineering experience
• 5+ years of experience developing on Android
• 2+ years Embedded Android or AOSP experience
• In-depth understanding of Kotlin and Android SDK
• Experience building UIs for Linux with frameworks like Qt a plus
• Can deliver high performance UX
• Comfortable writing multi-threaded, asynchronous code
• Experience collaborating cross functionally to design simple and robust backend APIs
• Eye for design, product details, and polish
• Degree in Computer Science or related Engineering field
• Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week
