Senior Software Engineer, Core Experiences - San Mateo, USA

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Core Experiences Team. This team builds and maintains the foundational services and SDKs that power Speechify’s product experience across platforms. It’s a role at the intersection of product and infrastructure, focused on designing clear, reliable APIs and simple systems that enhance the user experience.

• Collaborate with Product Teams to scope projects, balance UX/integration tradeoffs, and deliver cross-platform SDK solutions.
• Optimize existing functionality to enable faster loading and smarter parsing by designing efficient abstractions and improving algorithms.
• Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin.

• Systems thinking: end-to-end design with a belief in simplicity.
• Speed: ability to generate options quickly and decide what can ship now versus what requires more time.
• Focus: comfortable working in a high-growth, remote team environment.
• Collaboration:
  
  ability to work with designers, marketers, and PMs to inspire and negotiate.
• Preferred Tech Stack:
  • Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience OK but Kotlin Multiplatform preferred)
  • Prior experience with Google Cloud Platform is a plus

The United States Based Salary range for this role is: ,000 USD/Year + Bonus + Stock depending on experience
