Senior Backend Engineer

ForceV Technologies is partnering with a high-growth, Series A technology company (~100 employees) based in San Mateo that is building category-defining AI-native business intelligence infrastructure.

We are hiring Senior Backend Engineer to join the founding engineering team. In this high-agency role, you will own core backend systems end-to-end, work across the entire codebase, and architect distributed systems capable of sub-second analytical workloads at scale.

• High-Throughput Data Architecture: Design, build, and optimize large-scale, latency-critical data pipelines handling high-concurrency analytical queries.
• Distributed Systems & Infra: Architect secure, cost-efficient, and fault-tolerant backend services on modern cloud infrastructure.
• Full-Stack Backend Ownership: Work across the entire product lifecycle—from raw database schema design and API layer definition to core execution engines.
• Technical Roadmap & Strategy: Partner directly with co-founders and product teams to translate complex customer analytical needs into scalable system design patterns.
• Engineering Culture: Establish code quality standards, drive architectural reviews, and contribute to decisions around tech stack evolution.

• Experience: 4+ years of professional backend engineering experience in product, platform, or core infrastructure roles within high-bar engineering environments.
• Systems & Data: Demonstrated track record of building and scaling large-scale, distributed data pipelines and latency-sensitive data processing systems.

• Academic Background: BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Statistics, or Mathematics from a top-tier university.
• Location: Based in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area (4 days/week in-office in San Mateo).
• Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
