Overview

What You’ll Do- A student school day is around 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with teachers’ days starting not earlier than 8:00 a.m. and ending no later than 5:00 p.m. on any given workday.
- Project Time:
Teach 90-minute blocks in high school or four 55-minute blocks in middle school, per day of project time. Most teachers teach one course for the entire grade and see each section twice per week. Teach with students on projects that apply content knowledge to real-world situations and provide feedback. Analyze student data, build lesson plans, support school culture, and engage in personal development activities between blocks.
Build lesson plans through an understanding of student progress data to determine needed supports. - Mentor Time:
Meet daily with a small group of mentees, coach and advocate for them inside and outside the classroom, and help them develop as self-directed learners. - Self-Directed Learning Time and Interventions:
Facilitate Self-Directed Learning time and daily literacy or math interventions, providing student support and monitoring progress without requiring additional lesson planning. - Collaboration & Professional Development:
Participate in all-faculty after-school meetings twice a week for professional development and collaboration at grade or subject level.
