Tax Accountant

Our client, a boutique CPA firm specializing in tax, accounting, and business management services, is seeking a Tax Accountant to join their team.

San Francisco North Bay area, CA. The position is hybrid with in‑office expectations of 2–3 days per week.

This role offers significant growth potential, including partnership opportunities, and requires a hands‑on approach in a collaborative, small‑firm environment.

• Prepare tax returns for individuals, pass-through entities, non-profits, trusts, and rental properties
• Perform accounting and bookkeeping tasks, including general ledger preparation and review
• Interact directly with clients, taxing authorities, and internal teams to manage projects from start to finish
• Conduct tax research and ensure compliance with applicable regulations
• Assist with process improvements and contribute to firm growth initiatives

• CPA or EA designation (or candidate status) preferred
• Recent experience in a CPA firm with tax preparation for individuals and various entity types
• Strong general ledger accounting skills and familiarity with accounting software (Quick Books or similar)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and thrive in a fast‑paced, small‑firm environment
