Contribute to the life, health, and safety of buildings in the beautiful beachside community of Santa Cruz. The current vacancy is for Supervising Building Inspector in the Planning and Community Development department. The Supervising Building Inspector is an integral member of the City of Santa Cruz Building & Safety team that supports our community by supervising the building inspector function in the inspection services division of the planning and community development department.
This position performs a variety of the most complex inspection services and assists the building official in planning and directing division activities, with an emphasis on building inspection; performs inspections for the full range of construction development projects; coordinates building inspection and final occupancy service activities with other city departments; performs complex plan reviews for compliance with applicable construction codes;
