Maintenance Technician
Salary Range: $56,815.00 - $56,815.00 Salary
Position Type: Staff - Full Time
DescriptionWorking under the general direction of the Maintenance Manager, Technician will maintain a safe, attractive and comfortable environment for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors to the campus. Will use knowledge and experience in the trades to conduct general building maintenance and repairs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- High school diploma OR General Education Degree (GED) equivalent
- Ability to think clearly through processes, solve practical problems, understand and deal with daily variables, physical environments and conditions.
- Ability to understand, follow, and provide directions in oral and written English and diagram form.
- Team player who works well with others and is willing to contribute to the shared goals of the Maintenance team, the Facilities Services department, and the University.
- Willing to learn from supervisors and coworkers as appropriate in performing tasks more effectively and efficiently.
- Willing to share knowledge and experience with coworkers to contribute to shared goals.
- Communicates in oral and written form with coworkers in an effective and professional manner.
- Current driver's license and satisfactory driving record required and must be maintained
- Experience using hand and power tools and experience with shop equipment.
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Understand the importance of workplace safety and always works and operates equipment and tools in a safe manner.
