We are currently seeking an experienced Protection & Control (P&C) Engineer to join our team for a long-term onsite opportunity in San Ramon, CA. This role involves working on substation engineering design, power system protection, and control projects within the electric utility sector.

Experience Required: 7–20 Years
Key Responsibilities:
· Design protection and control systems for transmission and distribution substations.
· Develop substation relay protection drawing packages, including schematics, wiring, one-line, and three-line diagrams.
· Conduct load calculations for panels, battery systems, and other substation components.
· Specify and select appropriate protective devices and equipment.
· Perform field support, pre-inspections, and project implementation assistance.
· Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal design teams.
· Ensure adherence to client-specific protection standards.
· Mentor junior engineers and support drafting/design personnel.
Must-Have Skills:
· Proficiency in AutoCAD (Micro Station is a plus)
· Strong experience in 2D/3D design
· Knowledge of ETAP, WinIGS
· Familiarity with IEEE 88/998 standards
· Hands-on experience with high-voltage systems
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited)
· Professional Engineer (PE) License (Required)
· 4+ years of experience in the energy or utility industry
· Working knowledge of SCADA, RTU configuration, relay settings, and automation systems
· Experience with Bentley Substation, Autodesk Inventor
