Job TitleSoils Inspector (Group
3) – Bay Area team
- Confirm recommendations of the geotechnical engineer, as described in the geotechnical reports implemented by the earthwork contractor.
- Must be able to read and understand plans and specifications.
- Confirm adherence to current regulatory agency's grading ordinances and building codes.
- Keep up to date on a daily basis, all current projects via project managers and other technicians/inspectors.
- Perform in‑place density tests.
- Keep an organized field file containing field and laboratory data, reports, letters, and other pertinent field documentation.
- Communicate clearly and daily with direct supervisor and with the project manager regarding all aspects of the field operations, including bringing on‑site issues to the project manager's attention, preparing and reviewing all field paperwork, maps and test sheets, and submitting them on a daily/weekly basis.
- Write daily field reports.
- ICC Soils Special Inspector certification.
- ACI Concrete Field‑Testing Technician – Grade 1 certification.
- Certified in CPN Radiation Safety and use of Nuclear Soil Gauge.
- 2 years of soils and concrete testing experience.
- OSHA 10‑Hour Course completed with certification.
- Excellent communication skills and computer proficiency for daily reporting.
- Ability to reach, analyze and interpret design plans and project instructions.
- Must be able to work in all Regions of San Francisco Bay Area.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean MVR.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
$53 - $53.69 hourly
The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state’s law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
