SummaryThe Tax Manager role is a pivotal leadership position within the firm, offering the opportunity to oversee and manage a diverse portfolio of tax engagements. The Tax Manager will be responsible for leading a team of tax professionals, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tax returns, and providing strategic tax planning advice to clients. With a focus on client service excellence, this role will cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor on complex tax matters.
Additionally, they will play a key role in business development initiatives, identifying new opportunities for growth and expanding our client base.
- Strong relevant tax technical knowledge, including analytical, research, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective client interaction and team collaboration.
- Leadership skills to mentor and develop team members.
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized with strong time management skills.

- Ability to build relationships and interact with clients to provide excellent planning, compliance and consulting services.
- Ability to provide innovative tax planning and review complex income tax returns.
- Display in-depth understanding of the tax rules in the area(s) of specialization.
- Stay current on legislation and related issues and has an understanding of how tax laws impact particular industries to provide client guidance and solutions.
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related field is required.
- 5+ years of experience preparing and reviewing tax returns.
- Master's degree in accounting, tax or related field is preferred.
- CPA or EA license required.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software and financial analysis tools.
- Manage tax compliance, planning, and consulting services for clients in assigned industry(s).
- Manage and review complex tax returns, including corporate, partnership, individual, and trust tax filings.
- Conduct tax research and stay up to date with federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Devise innovative solutions for complex tax issues, leveraging deep understanding of tax laws and regulations.
- Implement and maintain rigorous quality control procedures throughout all stages of client engagements.
- Identify areas for improvement in firm processes and take proactive steps to address operational inefficiencies.
- Ensure adherence to professional standards and best practices to deliver high-quality work to clients consistently.
- Cultivate and nurture relationships with existing clients to deepen engagement and drive additional business opportunities.
- Expand the firm's client base by networking within the business community and leveraging personal and professional connections.
- Participate as needed in recruiting and staffing decisions, including interviewing, hiring, and on-boarding new team members.
- Contribute to the development of the skills and knowledge of team members; providing ongoing mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Collaborate with partners and senior managers on complex tax matters and firm initiatives.
This role offers a competitive base salary along with a comprehensive benefits package. Salary ranges for U.S.
-based positions are determined by geographic location and fall into one of three pay zones, which reflect the cost of labor in that area. The anticipated salary ranges for this position are outlined below and are subject to change:
- $86,232 - $176,792
