Assistant Controller
Our client, a well‑established real estate development and home building company, is seeking an Assistant Controller to oversee corporate accounting operations and support financial reporting for a large, multi‑entity organization.
Base pay range$160,000 – $185,000 per year.
LocationSan Ramon, CA – on‑site schedule (five days per week to start).
Responsibilities- Manage daily accounting operations and supervise corporate accounting staff.
- Oversee month‑end close process and coordinate with divisional controllers.
- Review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for key accounts.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements and ensure compliance with internal controls.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants for annual filings.
- Assist with quarterly and annual internal control reporting and special projects.
- 8+ years of relevant accounting experience, including staff supervision.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables required).
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
