Labor and Delivery (LD) RN – Travel Nurse

We are looking for an experienced Labor and Delivery RN to fill an immediate travel nurse opening in San Ramon, CA. The ideal candidate must have at least 3 years of recent acute care experience and possess certifications including BLS, NRP, and AWHONN.
ResponsibilitiesAs an L&D RN, you will assist physicians during epidurals, pain medication administration, episiotomies, and preparation for cesarean deliveries. You will also monitor patients throughout labor, provide breathing techniques assistance, check cervical dilation, maintain a clean and safe environment, aid physicians with drapes and instruments, and provide immediate newborn care.
- Stay with and monitor patient throughout labor.
- Monitor contractions and help patients with breathing techniques.
- Check cervix periodically to monitor progression/lack of dilation.
- Ensure beds are kept clean and dry; clean up bodily fluids expelled before and after birthing process.
- Aid physician with drapes, gloves, gowns, delivery instruments, etc.
- Immediate care of newborn.
Requirements: BLS, NRP, AWHONN, 2 Years. Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
