Merchandising Sales Associate

Overview

Merchandising Sales Associate at Tractor Supply Company. The FAST (Field Activity Support Team) Team Member travels to stores within an assigned district to own and execute start-to-finish tasks such as planograms, merchandise and fixture assembly, and signage maintenance, while delivering a Legendary Customer Experience.

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Work scheduled shifts with varied hours, days, nights, and overtime as needed.
• Communicate proactively with the District FAST Supervisor on work completion, issues, and provide solutions.
• Complete planograms and resets accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain visual merchandise standards.
• Perform store-specific measurements and layout initiatives.
• Perform accurate cycle counts and complete the Tractor Way top cap process.
• Hang store signage and assemble merchandise, fixtures, and PDQs.
• Perform detailed recovery and review planogram integrity.
• Deliver on the Legendary Customer Service promise through GURA:
• Greet the Customer.
• Uncover Customer’s Needs & Wants.
• Recommend Product Solutions.
• Ask to Add Value & Appreciate the Customer.
• Ensure the customer has a Legendary shopping experience that differentiates from the competition.
• Provide peak coverage as needed (e.g., Day After Thanksgiving).
• FAST Team Members may be required to perform other duties as assigned.

• Experience:
  
  Prior retail and/or merchandising experience required. Farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge preferred. Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid driver’s license.
• Education:
  
  High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required. Ability to read, write and count accurately.

• Farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge strongly preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict.
• Self-directed with ability to complete assignments with little or no assistance.

• Generally indoors with moderate noise; shifts vary by store and may be no less than 4 hours and may exceed 8 hours.
• Travel between store locations in personal vehicle is required; often with long periods of time.
• Adhere to Company safety training and guidelines to promote a safe and productive work environment.
• Indoor floors and outdoor lots are hard surfaces; lighting and temperature are adequate.

• Ability to travel as required; push/pull merchandise up to 2,000 pounds with proper equipment.
• Occasionally lift or reach merchandise overhead; frequently stand, kneel, twist, crouch, bend, stoop, and climb ladders.
• Safely access all areas of the store; read, write, and count accurately for documentation.
• Communicate effectively with team members and customers; handle birds/poultry as applicable.
• Operate equipment such as dolly, handtruck, forklift (where allowed), baler, computer, and cash register; some equipment may have age restrictions.
• Physical stamina to move throughout the store and outdoor areas quickly and safely; non-sedentary role.
