** examples of essential duties:
*** performs regular (daily) assignments, individual project assignments and participates on project teams to maintain storerooms and inventory control procedures.
* analyzes and evaluates new products, costing, and supplies.
* takes and maintains inventories of supplies, filling supply orders when needed.
* distributes paper within department.
* delivers supplies and checks invoices and packing slips against physical inventory.
* maintains accurate records
* calls vendors when emergency arises to place orders
* works and communicates with internal customers to meet their needs in a courteous and professional manner.
* packages and crates outgoing orders and mail to minimize damage/loss.
* conducts regular physical inventories and cycle counts.
* enters data into sap system for accurate inventory count
* assists with the receiving and inspecting of supplies and other merchandise
* operates computer keyboard, telephone and other office equipment as required in the performance of duties.
* lifts cartons and packages up to 50 pounds infrequently.
* recommends and initiates projects that will improve the way we do business with our vendors and inside customers.
* answers incoming phone lines during shift hours and  serves as a back-up when safety personnel not available.
* monitors the front gate controls and the security camera /recording machine on a 24-hour basis.  Ensures the tape is changed out as required.
* unloads coil trucks on an as-needed basis.  Responsible for properly identifying material as it is unloaded and placed in slitter room and/or coil yard.
** typical physical demands:
*** must be able to work a minimum of 12 hours per day on a regular basis.  May require additional hours of work on occasion, as required.
* requires prolonged periods of sitting.
* requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
* requires prolonged periods of monitoring computer screens and displays.
* utilizes a variety of hand positions to repetitively manipulate keyboard and mouse.
* position requires occasional, prolonged periods of standing and walking distances of up to 1/4 mile in a manufacturing facility.

** typical working conditions:
** the storeroom attendant primarily works in an indoor office environment at the star center location. This environment is typically temperature controlled and clean, with normal air contaminants, such as dust, typically found in an office environment.  May be required to travel to locations in the plant, which is a manufacturing environment.

* experience*:  previous experience in shipping/receiving/storeroom helpful. Previous experience or working knowledge in inventory and receiving a plus.
