Quality Engineer – Sandbach, Cheshire

Are you a Quality Engineer seeking a new opportunity? Do you have automotive core tools knowledge (particularly FMEA, PPAP and 8D problem solving) and are you able to relocate to Sandbach?

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join a sheet metal manufacturing business in Sandbach. The role is day shifts 7:30 am – 4:30 pm with an early finish Friday (39 hours per week), and the salary is up to GBP 50,000 per annum (DOE).

The hiring manager is looking for someone who can demonstrate experience with PPAP, Control Plans, and FMEAs, as well as having experience with problem‑solving tools and techniques (including 8D reports).

Previous experience within the welding / fabrication / sheet metal industry would be preferred (but is not essential). A CSWIP 3.0 or 3.1 certification would be highly advantageous but is also not essential.

• Interpret and analyse engineering drawings, including GD & T, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Utilise basic measuring equipment, such as callipers, micrometres, and gauges, to verify product quality.
• Apply automotive core tools such as PPAP, MSA, Control Plans, FMEA, SPC, and APQP to maintain industry standards.
• Address customer and internal quality issues using problem‑solving techniques like 8D reports.
• Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings with a solid understanding of GD & T.
• Experience in using measuring and inspection equipment effectively.
• Familiarity with automotive industry quality tools and processes, including PPAP and FMEA.
• Proven ability to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and data reporting tools.
