Financial Accountant

The role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls, and regulatory compliance, while supporting management decision-making in a high-volume POS and payments environment, transaction-driven fintech business.

• Prepare monthly management accounts, journals, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition in line with IFRS
• Reconcile POS transactions, merchant settlements, and clearing accounts
• Manage debtors, stock, fixed assets, and chargebacks/refunds
• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations and monitor cash movements
• Prepare VAT reconciliations and support tax, audit, and regulatory reporting
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting
• Drive process improvements and system alignment with transactional platforms

• BCom Accounting / SAICA / SAIPA / CIMA (advantageous)
• 3–5 years’ financial accounting experience
• Experience in POS, payments, banking, fintech, or high-volume transactional environments
• Strong IFRS and VAT knowledge
• Advanced Excel skills (Power BI advantageous)
• Experience with card schemes (Visa/Master Card) and merchant acquiring advantageous
