Accounting and Reporting Specialist

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
• Prepare information to include in statutory reports, including VAT, tax, and other regulatory filings.
• Develop and maintain financial reporting templates, dashboards, and analytical tools to enhance reporting efficiency and insight.
• Contribute towards continuous improvement initiatives in financial systems, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with business units to analyse financial results, trends, and variances, providing actionable recommendations.
• Assess risks and provide commentary on financial performance and deviations from budgets or forecasts.
• Support audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with internal and external auditors’ requirements.
• Mentor and guide junior accounting staff to build reporting capabilities and knowledge of internal processes.
• Preparation and analysis of information for BBBEE reporting requirements.

• Chartered Accountant (CA), newly qualified.
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS) and statutory reporting requirements.
• Experience with Sage X3 advantageous.
• High proficiency in Excel.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple reporting deadlines and work independently.
• Focus on attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to liaise cross-functionally with Finance, Accounting, and Operations teams to ensure accurate and integrated reporting.
