About the Role
Our client, a distinguished name in the Arts & Entertainment industry in Sandton , is seeking a highly skilled Lead Film Editor . This position is essential for shaping the final narrative and pacing of our film and video content. You will lead the editing team, oversee the post-production process, and work closely with directors to translate raw footage into compelling, polished final products.
This role offers a unique chance to influence the artistic direction of significant productions and contribute to award-winning content within a prestigious studio environment.
- Lead and manage the film editing team, assigning tasks and overseeing workflow.
- Edit raw footage into a cohesive and engaging final product, adhering to directorial vision and project timelines.
- Collaborate closely with directors, producers, and other post-production staff.
- Ensure technical quality of edits, including color grading, sound mixing, and final output formats.
- Provide creative input on pacing, storytelling, and overall narrative structure.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to editing software and hardware.
- Extensive experience (7+ years) as a professional Film Editor , with a significant portion in a lead or supervisory role.
- Proficiency with industry-standard editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or Avid Media Composer.
- Strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, and narrative structure in filmmaking.
- Experience with color correction and sound design principles is advantageous.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- A portfolio showcasing a diverse range of high-quality editing work in the Arts & Entertainment field.
