Lead Architectural Drafter

Our client seeks a seasoned Lead Architectural Drafter to manage and guide the drafting team in Sandton. This role involves overseeing the production of high-quality technical drawings and documentation across multiple projects, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to standards. You will be responsible for coordinating the drafting workload, mentoring junior drafters, and collaborating closely with architects and project managers to deliver technically sound design solutions.

This is a key position for an experienced drafter looking to take on leadership responsibilities within a prominent architectural firm.

• Lead and coordinate the architectural drafting team, assigning tasks and managing workloads effectively.
• Oversee the production of detailed construction drawings, plans, sections, and elevations using CAD and BIM software.
• Ensure all drafted documents are accurate, compliant with building codes, and meet project specifications.
• Develop and maintain drafting standards and protocols to ensure consistency and quality.
• Collaborate with architects and engineers to resolve design and documentation issues, providing technical expertise.

• National Diploma in Architectural Technology or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in architectural drafting, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is essential.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, building materials, and regulatory requirements.
