Senior Healthcare Architect

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Healthcare Architect to lead specialized projects in the Sandton area. This role requires deep expertise in designing healthcare facilities, understanding the unique complexities, regulations, and functional requirements of hospitals, clinics, and medical centers. You will be responsible for leading design teams, ensuring the highest standards of patient care environments, and collaborating closely with healthcare professionals and stakeholders.

• Lead the architectural design of complex healthcare facilities, ensuring compliance with stringent healthcare standards.
• Develop functional programming, space planning, and detailed design solutions for medical environments.
• Coordinate with specialized consultants (medical equipment planners, MEP engineers) for integrated design.
• Ensure designs promote patient safety, infection control, and operational efficiency.
• Manage client relationships and stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee the production of construction documents and provide construction administration support.

• Registered Professional Architect (Pr. Arch) with significant experience in healthcare design.
• Minimum of 10 years of architectural experience, with at least 5 years focused on healthcare projects.
• In-depth knowledge of healthcare facility planning, codes (e.g., SANS 10400-XA), and best practices.
• Proficiency in BIM software (Revit) and related healthcare design tools.
• Proven ability to lead design teams and manage complex client requirements.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
