Our client is seeking a forward-thinking Sustainable Design Architect to join their innovative practice in Sandton . This role is dedicated to integrating environmental responsibility and sustainable practices into all aspects of architectural design, from conceptualization to construction detailing. You will lead the development and implementation of green building strategies, utilizing your expertise in sustainable materials, energy efficiency, and environmental certifications.
This position offers the chance to work on cutting-edge projects that prioritize ecological well-being and contribute to a greener built environment across Gauteng , fostering a culture of environmental stewardship within the firm and the industry.
- Develop and implement sustainable design strategies for architectural projects.
- Conduct energy modeling, life cycle assessments, and environmental impact studies.
- Research and specify sustainable materials, technologies, and systems.
- Guide project teams on achieving green building certifications (e.g., LEED, Green Star SA).
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to promote and integrate sustainable design principles.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and innovations in sustainable architecture and construction.
- Professional Architect (PrArch) registration with SACAP or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of architectural design experience, with a specialization in sustainable design.
- Demonstrated experience in achieving green building certifications.
- Knowledge of building physics, passive design strategies, and renewable energy systems.
- Proficiency in energy modeling software and BIM tools.
- Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.
