About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Curriculum Coordinator to lead the development and implementation of Mathematics and Science curricula for secondary schools in Sandton . This leadership role requires an individual with a strong background in STEM education, curriculum design, and teacher training. You will be responsible for ensuring curricula are aligned with national standards, innovative, and effectively meet the needs of diverse student populations.
This is a key position within the educational leadership team, driving excellence in science and mathematics education in a prestigious Gauteng setting.
- Oversee the development, review, and refinement of Mathematics and Science curricula from Grade 8 to 12.
- Ensure curriculum alignment with national educational standards (e.g., CAPS) and international best practices.
- Develop and deliver professional development programs for teachers focused on effective pedagogy and curriculum implementation.
- Analyze student performance data to identify areas for curriculum improvement and intervention.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, department heads, and external bodies on curriculum initiatives.
- Provide leadership and guidance to Mathematics and Science departments across the institution in Sandton .
- Master's degree in Mathematics, Science, Education, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in secondary education, with at least 5 years in curriculum development or leadership.
- Proven expertise in curriculum design and assessment for Mathematics and Science.
- Experience in teacher training and professional development delivery.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Deep understanding of pedagogical research and trends in STEM education.
