Why This Role Matters (Purpose):

To maintain and continuously improve process safety, operational risk, and business process management systems in alignment with Group frameworks, ensuring the integration of process safety principles into daily operations and compliance with all technical, regulatory, and legislative requirements.

What You Will Be Responsible For:
Process Safety strategy implementation and enablement
  • Implement corporate process safety frameworks, standards, and requirements.
  • Translate strategic objectives into site‑level process safety plans.
  • Establish process safety improvement initiatives.
  • Integrate process safety requirements into operational practices.
  • Develop and track leading and lagging process safety indicators.
  • Conduct process safety audits and self‑assessments.
  • Verify implementation of critical controls and barriers.
Evaluate process operations and design through risk assessments to ensure minimization of accidents, incidents, and events that harm people, property, or the environment.
  • Facilitate and lead hazard studies (HAZID, HAZOP, What‑If, SWIFT, FMEA).
  • Identify credible process safety scenarios and major accident hazards.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative risk assessments.
  • Evaluate likelihood and consequence of potential events.
  • Verify adequacy of engineering and administrative controls.
  • Assess effectiveness of layers of protection (LOPA).
  • Review safety instrumented systems (SIS), alarms, interlocks, and emergency shutdown systems.
  • Ensure critical controls are identified and monitored.
  • Review operating procedures and safe operating limits.
  • Participate in pre‑startup safety reviews (PSSR).
Governance and Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with applicable process safety legislation, regulations, permits, standards, and corporate requirements by monitoring regulatory obligations, conducting compliance assessments, supporting audits and inspections, managing compliance risks, advising on regulatory requirements, and driving corrective actions to maintain legal and operational integrity while preventing major accident hazards.
