About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in product design to join their team in Sandton . This hybrid role is ideal for a seasoned professional who can lead the mechanical design efforts for innovative new products, contributing expertise both remotely and through essential on-site collaboration. You will be responsible for driving the conceptualization, detailed design, validation, and manufacturing readiness of complex mechanical systems.

• Lead the mechanical design process for new product development, from concept to mass production.
• Perform advanced engineering simulations (FEA, thermal analysis) to ensure design robustness and performance.
• Develop highly detailed 3D CAD models and comprehensive manufacturing documentation.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (electrical, software, marketing) in a hybrid work model .
• Oversee prototype builds, rigorous testing, and design validation activities.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior mechanical engineers.

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in mechanical product design and development.
• Expert proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, CATIA) and simulation tools.
• Deep understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and DFM principles.
