About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer with expertise in Telecommunications Infrastructure to join their team in Sandton . This role is essential for the design, deployment, and maintenance of robust electrical systems that support critical telecommunication networks. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of power solutions for base stations, data centers, and other telecom facilities.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of power requirements for communication systems and experience with backup power solutions.
- Design and oversee the installation of electrical power systems for telecommunications sites, including backup power solutions (UPS, generators).
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes and telecom industry standards for power infrastructure.
- Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine electrical requirements and potential challenges.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues affecting telecom equipment and facilities.
- Manage relationships with vendors and contractors involved in electrical installations and maintenance.
- Develop maintenance plans and strategies to ensure high availability of power systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on telecommunications or critical infrastructure.
- Experience with UPS systems, generators, and power distribution in telecom environments.
- Knowledge of grounding and bonding techniques for sensitive electronic equipment.
- Familiarity with project management and site management principles.
