Facilities Engineer - Oil & Gas

About the Role

Our client is seeking a competent Facilities Engineer to support their oil and gas operations from their offices in Sandton . This role involves the design, maintenance, and optimization of surface facilities, including processing plants, pipelines, and storage terminals. You will ensure that facilities operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all environmental and regulatory standards. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer to contribute to the infrastructure supporting energy production, working within a multidisciplinary team and playing a key role in asset integrity and operational continuity.

• Design, evaluate, and modify surface facilities for oil and gas production.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies to ensure asset integrity and operational uptime.
• Oversee facility upgrades, modifications, and new construction projects.
• Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis for equipment and process failures.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
• Collaborate with project teams, operations, and HSE departments on facility-related matters.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in oil and gas facilities engineering .
• Strong knowledge of process design, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
• Experience with piping design, stress analysis, and P&t.
• Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME).
• Excellent project management and problem-solving abilities.
