About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Drafter to join their team in Sandton. This role is essential for translating engineering designs into precise technical drawings and models required for manufacturing. You will work closely with mechanical engineers and designers, ensuring all documentation meets strict industry standards and project specifications. The hybrid nature of this role allows for collaborative on-site work and focused individual tasks remotely.

• Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings of mechanical parts, assemblies, and systems using CAD software.
• Ensure drawings include all necessary information, such as dimensions, tolerances, materials, and finishes.
• Assist mechanical engineers in preparing and modifying design documentation.
• Maintain organized and accurate records of all drawings and design revisions.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and assembly teams to address any drafting-related queries.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) based on finalized designs.

• National Diploma or relevant certification in Mechanical Engineering Design/Draughting.
• 1-3 years of experience in mechanical drafting or design.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD or Solid Works.
• Basic understanding of mechanical components and manufacturing processes.
• Good attention to detail and ability to interpret technical drawings.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage workload effectively.
