Our client is seeking a highly skilled Metallurgical Engineer to optimize the mineral processing operations at their facilities near Sandton . This role is critical for maximizing the recovery of valuable minerals through efficient and innovative processing techniques. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and troubleshooting comminution, flotation, and other mineral processing circuits. Your expertise will directly contribute to enhancing operational efficiency, reducing costs, and improving the overall yield and quality of the processed mineral products .
Key Responsibilities- Design, optimize, and troubleshoot mineral processing circuits, including crushing, grinding, flotation, and leaching.
- Conduct pilot plant and laboratory test work to evaluate new processing technologies and improve existing ones.
- Develop process control strategies to maintain optimal operating conditions and ensure consistent product quality.
- Analyze plant performance data, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure efficient plant operation and maintenance.
- Prepare technical reports, process flow diagrams, and operational manuals.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in metallurgical engineering and mineral processing.
- Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in mineral processing, with a strong focus on plant operations and optimization.
- Proven expertise in comminution, flotation, gravity separation, and hydrometallurgy.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., METSIM, JKSimFloat) and data analysis tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose complex process issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
